Reproductive Health
As the daughter of a labor and delivery nurse and a mother herself, Kate understands that not all pregnancies are the same.
Whether to have an abortion should be a decision between a woman and her doctor, not a woman and the government.
With a state that is almost last in women’s healthcare and the highest maternal mortality rate, Texas must do more for women and expecting mothers.
Having been blessed with her daughter through IVF, Kate is a vocal champion for access to affordable fertility treatments.
Funding for Public Schools
Kate is a graduate from Carrollton Farmers Branch ISD and comes from a family of educators. Public schools are important to the people of our district and are the pillar of our community.
We need more funding in our public schools, not less. Kate would oppose voucher programs that undercut our children’s education.
Kate would be a fierce advocate for our teachers to be treated as professionals, to be paid a reasonable wage, and to have access to affordable healthcare.
Gun Safety and Protecting Our Community
Kate intends to use her experience prosecuting gun crimes to help pass common sense gun safety legislation. She has seen first hand how the lack of gun laws allows violence in our communities.
We should stop gun trafficking, close the personal collection loophole, and require mandatory background checks, among many other common sense gun safety initiatives.
